Patricia Goldman-Rakic (1937-2003)

World renowned neuroscientist (Inducted 2008)

Patricia Goldman-Rakic dedicated her life to neuroscience.  After several years as a researcher at the National Institute of Mental Health and a year at MIT, she became head of the newly organized Section of Neurobiology at Yale. The photo of Sterling Hall of Medicine personify her efforts. Goldman-Rakic’s pioneering work on memory remains vibrant as other researchers build upon it to understand the brain and developmental disorders.  Sterling Hall of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, is located at 333 Cedar Street in New Haven.
