Madeleine L'Engle (1918-2007)
Award-winning children’s author (Inducted 1996)
Madeleine L’Engle became one of the most respected and well-loved children’s authors in America. In 1963, she received the Newberry Medal for “A Wrinkle in Time”. The Crosswicks Foundation, which she started with her husband, continues to make grants to support arts and community-based organizations in New York and northwestern Connecticut. She and her husband, Hugh Franklin purchased this Colonial farmhouse in 1952. The residence is located at 93 West Street in Goshen.
